wenglor wins the Axia Award 2011

After being nominated as a finalist at the “Entrepreneur of the Year” and “Hermes Award 2011”, the array of awards continue at wenglor sensoric. In Stuttgart, the Tettnang sensor manufacturer was honored with the “Axia Award 2011” at an award ceremony for exceptional entrepreneurial achievements and thus ranks amongst the best medium-sized companies in Germany.

The annual contest organized by the Deloitte auditing company awards prizes to medium-sized companies that have successfully asserted themselves on the market. This year, the Axia Award under the slogan “Fit for tomorrow, efficient and flexible enterprise control” went to a total of four companies in Baden-Württemberg, which have a clear strategic direction, efficient and flexible controlling as well as exemplary human resources management. In a multi-stage application procedure, a jury selected the winners. This was presided over by Klaus M. Bukenberger (Corporate Governance Consulting) and included Prof. Dr. Dirk Hachmeister (University of Hohenheim), Claus Hornung (Financial Times Deutschland), Wolfgang Jung (Südwestbank) as well as Thomas Traub and Christian Himmelsbach (Deloitte).

Axia stands for the ancient Greek concept “Value”, “Ability” and “Success”. The fact that wenglor fulfilled these three qualities in a special way is clear from the explanatory statement of the jury. It states amongst other things: “In human resources, wenglor attaches great importance to reliability, job security, flat hierarchies, a wide spectrum of activities and modern working conditions. The corporate culture has resulted in a high degree of teamwork among employees and low fluctuation.” The Managing Directors, Dieter and Fabian Baur, proudly accepted the prize in the Hotel Le Méridien in Stuttgart: In the words of Dieter Baur, “My two sons, Fabian and Rafael, have positioned our company optimally for the future by means of a clear strategic orientation. I am very delighted that our work has been honored with another great award.”
